We are so excited about all that we are planning for the summer ahead! Rory and I are in a season of big imagination and creativity and if you keep reading, I think you’ll agree we have a whole lot of great things to look forward to.
Last summer we hosted our very first Farm Camp, a camp for girls that blended Bible Camp with Family Farm. This year we are offering more camps for more ages. “Farm Camp” is sort of an umbrella term for all of our camps, because they all have something to do with farming, nature and enjoying God’s creation. Under that umbrella we are offering THREE AWESOME CAMPS: Farm-to-Table Camp (for girls), Knights of the Round Table Camp (for boys), and Grandparent Days.
Farm-to-Table Camp (for Girls)
June 15-18, 2020 / June 22-25, 2020
Farm Camp is back! But this year we’re calling it Farm-to-Table Camp. The new name feels a bit more fitting as so much of what we do at this camp is making a food or craft out of the items we produce on the farm. The activities will be tweaked a bit for a new year to keep things fresh, but all-in-all this is the same great camp that was so well received last year.
We will spend time in the garden, making pies, learning about the goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and honeybees, baking bread, making butter, creating all sorts of crafts, relaxing in hammocks, sharing in soulful conversations, enjoying quiet time with personal devotions written for each day and enjoying the company of new friends.
This is a four-day camp, M-Th meeting 9:00-4:00 each day.

Knights of the Round Table Camp (for Boys)
July 13-16, 2020 / July 20-23, 2020
For years we have been dreaming up this camp and this is the year we get to live it out! Rory has always been a fan of this period of history and so this is a very natural fit for our farm. He will lead the campers through making their own bow and practicing archery, to constructing a catapult to launch melons into the field. Campers will make a family crest and learn about historic trades from earlier times. The teachings will center around the Knight’s Code of Chivalry and conversations about their Christian duty to friends, family and God.
We’re still dreaming, but there might even be an actual round table set up in the woods and I believe I will be sewing actual pennants to hang near the entrance. Maid Marian is going to be busy…

Grandparent Days on the Farm
July 29, 30 and 31, 2020
The thing I heard the most often last summer as I promoted Farm Camp was, “I wish I could come! Let me know if you ever do a camp for adults!” So we’re trying to branch out a bit with more ages and stages of life.
This camp was created for grandparents to get to share the goodness of the family farm with their grandkids. I’m a storyteller and anticipate lots of stories coming up naturally as grandparents reminisce about their childhood. It means these days will be full of good stories and memories!
Grandkids can be ages five and up. In this day camp, you are able to sign up for one, two or all three days.
Wednesday, July 29, 2020 – Farm Fresh: Get ready to eat! On this day we will prepare recipes from food growing right on our farm. We will spend time in the garden, weeding and harvesting and talking about the joy of good work. Together we will enjoy recipes from the garden and learn the basics of bread baking and butter making.
Thursday, July 30, 2020 – Shepherding & Fiber Arts: On this day we will learn about sheep and shepherding. We will have a special demonstration to learn how wool is carded, spun, dyed and made into beautiful things.
Friday, July 31, 2020 – Farm Animals: Our farm has sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and honeybees. This day will focus on all the barnyard animals. There will also be a lesson on beekeeping (you do not need to get near the bees!) and honey that is produced from our orchards–strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, plum, pear and apple trees.
