Thank you ! I just found your site and love that you are believers in God and Jesus Christ !
I look forward to watching more and reading more of your things. I am moving in the same direction as you folks are. My grown children are too.

This calculator is currently “undergoing maintenance” since we just switched to a new host and some of the scripts are not working. Please check back in a couple days, thanks!
Hey. Would love to use this calculator. Is it still under construction?
Hi Sue- This fix turned out to be a little more involved than I’d hoped. Have to cut hay tomorrow, but will try to get it up and running this week!
This calculator is so cool! Thank you for creating it. I use garden beds, but the total square footage measurement translates easily. I can’t wait to get started this spring!
Hi, Where do you buy your non GMO seeds for planting?
Hi Marita- There are many suppliers of non-GMO and heirloom seeds. You could try Seed Saver’s Exchange for one.
Question: Potatoes and squash grow very well in our soil but I have a hard time storing them because they spoil. Do you have a blog post (sorry, I didn’t look) about how to keep potatoes, squash? I do can potatoes but they degrade fairly quickly and don’t taste as good as fresh. Thanks. By the way, we live close by in Cannon Falls and we loved your organic chickens last year!
Hi Belinda, we’ve had great success with a sturdy wooden box in the basement layered with peat moss to keep out the light. It also needs to stay pretty cold and moist. Here’s an article I wrote about it for Mother Earth News:
